How to Apply
All applicants are required to submit a pre-application summary before submitting a full application to the Fund.

We recommend contacting one of the following business support organisations who can offer advice and guidance when completing the application:
- Business Link is a free service that provides access to information, advice and support that is needed when starting a new business or maintaining and growing an existing business. Business Link in the South East region has a dedicated Innovation team that can be contacted via a generic e-mail address at innovation@businesslinksoutheast.co.uk or by calling Business Link direct on 0845 6009 006.
- South East Business Innovation & Growth focuses on entrepreneurial individuals and companies, helping them to bring ideas to market quickly and profitably. The help on offer is free to members of the Network; your local Innovation and Growth Team will be able to advise you on which of the services will be most useful for you/your company.
Please send the pre-application summary by e-mail to Martin Carruthers, Fund Manager, at martin.carruthers@financesoutheast.com. Replies to the pre-application summary will be sent by e-mail within five working days as to whether it would be worthwhile submitting a full application to the Fund.
Should you receive a favourable response to your pre-application summary, the full application form and guidance notes will be sent to you by e-mail.
A full application should be completed and submitted by e-mail to Martin Carruthers. This application will then undergo an initial review by the Fund Executive and / or the Fund Manager. The Fund may then either decline the full application or request a meeting to discuss the application and commercial strategy in more detail. Following this meeting the application may be declined; further information may be requested or you may be asked to present the case to an Investment Panel.
The investment panel consists of representatives from Finance South East and other SEEDA partners. The applicant will be asked to make a presentation to the investment panel. A guideline presentation will be supplied. After this meeting, the Fund Manager makes the award decision and the applicant is informed within 48 hours.
Please note that an application to the FInance for Business: Commercialisation Fund may be declined at any stage. Should this occur the company may only submit one further revised application to the Fund for consideration.
Please allow up to 12 weeks for a full application to be assessed.
