Women's Enterprise
Under-funding in women’s enterprise is a reality, with female owned and run businesses typically receiving a third less capital than their male counterparts. It is a fact that this lack of capital drastically limits the growth of women’s businesses.
Finance South East has been working to tackle this issue through a series of programmes and events to both increase the sources of funding available to women, whilst at the same time better equipping female entrepreneurs to access these funds.
Our achievements in this area include:
- Founding the UK’s first investment readiness programme for women ‘Funding Enterprising Women’ which benefited more than 300 female entrepreneurs in its first year.
- Creating new sources of investment by attracting and training a contingent of female business angels in the unique ‘Women Investing in Women’ programme.
Sally Goodsell awarded 'Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Enterprise Development' at the 2008 Prowess awards
Finance South East is also a member of Prowess, the UK's premier network supporting the growth of women's business ownership.
